ReimagiNation Foundation: Reimagine Education

ReimagiNation Foundation

The importance of music, art, design, dance and drama in education.

Concept: Reimagine Education

The campaign will focus on looking at education in a new way. The edu- cation system has its merits as well as its flaws, but with the integration of arts education into every school, the way students learn with be transformed. The idea stemmed from the reimagining of the Alhambra theatre. The ReimagiNation Foundation is transforming an already great building into a creative space for young creatives to grow and to learn. With this campaign ReimagiNation Foundation are trying to change the way people view education, highlighting the importance and the beneficial aspects of arts education. In order to do this we will use the following contact points
• Flyers (to be handed out to teachers, school governing bodies and principals) • Website (To subscribe to newsletters and to engage with to find more information)
• Newsletters (to be emailed once a month to the subscribers updating them on
what the ReimagiNation Foundation are doing as well as any other relevant information) •
We need to reach educators and people involved in education in order to increase aware- ness about the importance of arts education both in high school and in the world. Creativity is going to be an invaluable asset in the future and over ninety percept of schools aren’t fostering the creativity of high school students. We looked into how these creative students express their creative energy in school and found that drawing on desks and in textbooks were common outlets, especially when students are feeling overwhelmed or are uninterested in the lessons. Another place where creativity can be found is in the public school bathrooms, the walls are filled with words and images that express creativity. These new canvases constantly need to be fixed and this costs the school unnecessary money. If the school provided a creative outlet for the students they wouldn’t need to express them- selves on school property and the money that would normally be spent on covering up school vandalism can be invested into arts education. We want to promote arts education and foster creativity rather than stifle it by spending money and covering it up. The flyers we created use examples of school vandalism and are then stamped indicating a punishment of some kind whether detention, failure or expulsion. Public school environments are condemning creativity rather than rewarding it. We want to use this campaign to explain how education needs to be reimagined to include arts education. We went to change perceptions. We used fonts that are legible and clear for the newsletter and the back of the flyers. The corporate identity we created features a brain as the logo with splattered paint, we stuck to this brand identity throughout. The logo itself is something scientific that has been reimagined as something colourful and creative. We used paint splatters to express creativity exploding out of high school students but it has no direction. The ReimagiNation Foundation want to direct this creativity.
